LASYA Performing Arts Centre, the name synonymous with style, elegance, excellence and discipline for Art & Culture, at Walajapet in Vellore District, India. Founded by Smt. Mahalakshmi Karthikeyan in the year 2009, the art centre is an institution for dance imparting training in Bharathanatyam dedicated to the promotion of art and culture through performance, teaching, experimentation and preservation of classical traditional ideals.
Trained by eminent Gurus including Dr. Uma Anand (D/o. Sri. K. N. Dhandayuthapani Pillai) and Sri. Madurai R. Muralidharan, Smt. Mahalakshmi Karthikeyan hasablysynthesized her diverseclassical trainingto present unique dance presentations.
She has the credit of Choreographing
- Over 50 solo and group itemsfor Bharathanatyam
- Four thematic dance productions (SHANTHAM, NAMACHIVAYAM, SRI KRISHNAM,SRI CHAKRAM)and
- Two dance ballets(NAVARASAM,SOORASAMHARAM).
She has also shared stage with many world renowned artists as a part of her Guru. Sri. Madurai R. Muralidharan's stage productions, and also featured in popularTV shows.
